Twas the day before Lucy......

Well, only 1 day to go......it is all so not real to me right now. I haven't the slightest idea of what to expect! I have been so excited at the idea of not being pregnant and what that will feel like that I haven't had much time to think about what that will mean to me, to Nathan, to Eli and to us as a family. Today is the last day we will be a family of 3. Tomorrow will start a whole new chapter in our lives. Oh my....... So, these pictures were taken by the lovely Whitney L. They were taken last weekend and I love them. She does such a great job. They might be the only pictures of me pregnant this time around!! Beside a few snap shots here and there. So, next time I post, unless I encounter a great photo opportunity between now and bedtime, the next time I post will be to introduce everyone to lil miss lucy ann.

Preparing for Lucy

As you may or may not know, we are having Lucy this Thursday! soooo, I have been trying to get Lucy's room in some kind of order and finally made a little progress last week. I was able to get the closet cleaned out and boy was it long over due!! It was full of clothes that Eli grew out of many many months ago. It felt great! So, here are some pictures of her room. The dollhouse furniture was mine when I was growing up. I like it, but it definitely shows it's age. That being said, if anyone out there knows someone that might be able to re-paint it and update it a bit, I would love to talk to you. For now, it is great. I have also included a picture of the doll Lucy recieved as a gift. This is her first doll. Isn't it cute? I guess that's all for now. I hope to get a few things hung on the wall and a few other little details done this week, but I guess she won't mind if I don't :)

Eli has become very interested in Lucy's bed recently. My guess is because I have used it to store clothes and blankets and when guest come over we go look and oo and aww. He loves to get in there and hold up clothes and say "Oooh, pwretty" It's really cute. Well, yesterday I was cleaning up in her room and Eli climbed into her bed with no help! I turned around and there he was so proud of himself, jumping up and down. A part of me was proud that he figured it out and did it, however the other part of me put a baby gate up to keep him out of there. I started have visuals of him climbing in there when she is in there! O, what fun times are just around the corner :)

My Stud Muffin

Yesterday Nathan decided he couldn't take all the facial hair anymore and went off to shave. I didn't realize he was shaving and he walked back in the room with these lovely chops and such. It took me all of 2 seconds to realize what he had done and we had a good laugh
Then he leaves the room again and comes back looking like some ole wrestler. Again we have a good laugh. And I have to admit I am a little bit creeped out
And just when I think he couldn't look creepier he comes back with just a mustache! Ewww. So, the only way I could think to appropriately describe these looks is "Stud Muffin" It fits, doesn't it?!

Unfortunately I don't have a final picture to show off his cleanly shaven face, but I assure you he did away with all the peculiar looks and went for the clean look in the end. Thank goodness! It's amazing what being in your house too long can do to you sometimes. It doesn't take much to entertain us :)

Mother's Day masterpieces

See post below.......

Good ole crayola

Dad decided to have a little craft time with Eli the other day. They pulled out some crayola colored pencils and colored beautiful masterpieces :) This is the first time (at least that I can recall) that Eli has sat down to color. He did do some paintings around mother's day, but they were a little different. Anyway, I thought this was a sweet picture to share. Come to think of it, I never posted pictures from Mother's Day cause I didn't want to ruin the surprise for his Nana and Gramma, so I guess I will do yet another post *3 in one sitting!*

Brain Freeze!!!

Eli is actually crying due to a hand freeze, but I have a feeling there might have been some freezing sensations going on in his head as well. We were enjoying an afternoon treat and Eli's popsicle fell off of its stick. Naturally, he picks it up and decides to just hold it in his hand. It didn't take long for his poor little hand to start stinging and hurting. Luckily Daddy walked out about that time with a warm washcloth and we were able to stop the pain. Daddy also happen to have brought the camera with him so we were able to catch all this drama on film :)

Lucy's shower

left to right: Whitney, Annie, me, Sarah, Bekah, Cindy & Meredith

Me and my momma
Lucy's Great Grandmothers!
3 generations of good friends!!

Over the weekend a sweet group of ladies threw Lucy a beautiful shower. She got all sorts of goodies, including her very first doll. I will try and remember to take a picture of it so I can show you. Anyway, here are some snap shots I got. It was so beautiful and sweet! Baby showers are fun, but something about a girly baby shower was sooo fun.
